The selector is the list
The model selector in the chat composer is the source of truth for what you can pick right now. It is built from the live model catalog. Auto and MAX sit at the top, then the specific models. Search the list by name, and hover a model to see its description and context window. Models are added and retired often. Any model named on this page is a snapshot; the selector is current.What each plan can pick
The specific free models are there on purpose, for people who would rather name
their model than leave the choice to Auto.
Models your plan does not cover still appear in the selector, muted and marked
with a lock. Picking one opens the upgrade prompt and does not switch your chat.
Providers in the selector
On a paid plan you can pick models from OpenAI, Anthropic and DeepSeek directly, including a coding-specialist OpenAI model. Auto and MAX can also route to other providers behind the scenes. The subprocessors list names every provider that can receive your prompts.Cost warnings
Some frontier models use your balance much faster than others. They carry a Higher cost marker in the selector, and an estimate of how many messages your balance has left at that model’s rate.If you do not want to think about any of this, leave it on Auto. It is the
default for a reason, and it is what we recommend for most work.
